A Hasty Bunch

[Paris/Dijon]: [Contact Editions], [1922]. First edition. 288 pp. Original printed wrappers. McAlmon's second book, a collection of stories, the first publication of what would become his press Contact Publishing Company; this book issued without a date, publisher or place of publication. Printed in Dijon by Darantiere. The title was taken from a remark by James Joyce, to whom McAlmon had been sending his stories, as he was also assisting Joyce with preparations on Ulysses. The scarce broadside "From an h’English Printer to an English Publisher," distributed with copies of the book but not always present, is laid in. According to Ford, 300 copies of the book were printed. A fine copy, uncut. Item #1905
