Gray cloth boards, spines lettered in silver, with the dust jackets. 627; 433; 643; 357; 621 pp. Translated by Carol Cosman. Volume 1 has a bit of sunning and wear to the top edge, jacket shows some wear and browning and mild staining. Volumes 2-5 are near fine or better, with occasional creasing to the jacket flaps. Volume 2 has some minor foxing to the top edge, volume 5 has some minor shelfwear on the bottom edge. An excellent set.

Sartre's monumental study of Flaubert, on which he spent the last ten years of his life. Quite rare to find the full set, published over the course of twelve years. Item #1861
